2024 Toyota Tacoma Makes Debut On The Big Island, Hawaii

Hawaii’s KONA (May 19, 2023) – Last night, the brand-new 2024 Toyota Tacoma Makes Debut On The Big Island, Hawaii, marking the start of the fourth generation of the best-selling mid-size truck of the previous 18 years.

Along with Tacoma head engineer Sheldon Brown, Dave Christ, the vice president and general manager of the Toyota Group, and CALTY president Kevin Hunter, they unveiled the new vehicle.

“We’re confident that Tacoma will remain the top choice for mid-size pickup buyers when it arrives later this year with even more off-road capability and the quality, durability, and reliability that our customers expect, along with a host of options for every owner,” says Dave Christ, group vice president and general manager of Toyota.

The all-new Tacoma has a new multilink rear suspension, an option constructed on Toyota’s TNGA-F global truck platform. Customers can choose between two new, very effective four-cylinder powertrains and the 326-horsepower, 465-lb.-ft. I-FORCE MAX hybrid.

Additionally, Tacoma unveils the brand-new Trailhunter grade, an overlander designed in-house and incorporating parts from ARB, Old Man Emu, and RIGID.

Tacoma i-FORCE MAX is the newest hybrid model to carry the Beyond Zero badge as part of Toyota’s varied strategy for pursuing a carbon-neutral future. Toyota now provides consumers with a selection of 15 electric vehicles.

Toyota has more options than any other automaker for customers to lessen their carbon footprint, with eleven hybrid models, two plug-in hybrid models, the Mirai hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, and the bZ4X battery electric vehicle.
